Eva dipped her toes in the water hesitantly, sighing in relief at the cool feeling of it. Though it wasn't summer yet, it was undeniably hot, and she was suffering from it. She wore jean shorts and a tank top-it should've helped to keep her cool, but it seemed as though it did nothing to aid her. She settled uncomfortably onto the sand, knowing it would cling to her perspiring skin, and splashed some water on her face. Slowly, she slid her legs into the cool liquid up to the knees.

Emma was just wandering around the lake, occasionally splashing a bit of water on her face. It was really hot for this time of year, she would have expected more rain. Oh well! Emma liked the sun better than the rain any day.
She had stopped walking for a second, just to take a look around. Her ears folded back on to her head when she heard a sound. Her eyes narrowed to slits seeing the outlines of a figure on the other side of the lake. It looked like a girl, so she decided to check it out.
Her feet crunched in the sand as she walked to the other side of the lake. When Emma got close enough, she could tell who it was. It was Eva. She hadn't talked to her in a while, nor anyone for a matter of fact.
"Hey Eva," Emma called out as she waved one hand in the air.
